Pentecost Restoration & Deliverance Center (PRDC) was birthed in 2019 when God spoke clearly to Pastor Otis Patterson, placing a new ministry assignment on his heart. Trusting the voice of the Lord, Pastor Patterson stepped out in faith—and God immediately made provision. Apostle J. L. Spence opened the doors of Word Empowerment Church in Durham, allowing PRDC to hold worship each Sunday at 4:00 PM.
The ministry began as a non-denominational, independent church under Pastor Patterson’s leadership. PRDC’s first planning meeting convened on September 8, 2019, with the Pastor and the following core members: Bro. Antonio Howard, the late Sis. Rosalind Howard, MIT Jennica Lawson, Reverend Pernestaline “Lene” McAlister, Evangelist Carmille Miles, and Elder Xavier Patterson. Two additional founding members—Elder Evette Patterson and Sis. Rhea Patterson—were unable to attend. One week later, on September 15, 2019, PRDC held its first official service with 30 worshippers in attendance.
As Pastor Patterson continued to seek God for direction, the Lord prompted him to return to the Efland area. In late February 2020, God opened a new door—a church building in Mebane that had been home to Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church under Pastor Pauline Slade. PRDC members poured their hearts and hands into restoring and preparing the building for worship. On March 15, 2020, PRDC held its first service in the new location with 12 faithful attendees. Days later, the COVID-19 pandemic halted in-person gatherings worldwide, and PRDC quickly adapted by moving to livestream worship.
In November 2020, a significant milestone marked the next chapter of PRDC’s growth. Pastor Patterson was dually consecrated and affirmed as both Bishop and Apostle. From that moment forward, God expanded the church's assignment. Under this Apostolic grace, the ministry has installed pastoral leadership, ordained elders, licensed ministers, performed baptisms, consecrated Bishops, and affirmed fellow Apostles. These milestones strengthened the church’s foundation, positioning PRDC to serve both the local body and the wider Kingdom of God.
As the ministry grew, PRDC continued to develop a strong culture of fellowship, outreach, and spiritual enrichment. Over the years, PRDC has established and hosted multiple signature ministry events, including:
- Family & Friends Month, featuring community-centered outdoor gatherings, family activities including Pente-lympics, and evangelistic outreach.
- Power in Pearls Women’s Ministry & Conference, empowering women through prayer, teaching, fellowship, and mentorship.
- The Annual Blood Encounter, a powerful worship and deliverance service focusing on the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
- Numerous Outreach Events, meeting the needs of local communities through food, clothing, support, and prayer initiatives.
- New Year’s Praise Service, ushering in each year with worship, expectation, and consecration before the Lord.
These ministry touchpoints have broadened PRDC’s reach and deepened its impact, reflecting the church’s heart to serve people from all nations, all backgrounds, and all walks of life. The ministry remains committed to raising up strong, Spirit-led believers who carry the gospel with integrity, compassion, and power.
Apostle Patterson, Pastor Patterson, and their children—Elder Xavier and Sis. Rhea Patterson—serve with humility, passion, and a deep love for God’s people. Pastor often describes himself as a “casual pastor,” desiring an environment where individuals feel relaxed, comfortable, and free to ask questions so they can fully receive God’s Word. PRDC stands firmly on the belief that God is truly the Head of this House, and that the taught and preached Word must remain Bible-based and Spirit-led.
Pastor Patterson’s prayer is that PRDC will always be known for its genuine love—love for God, love for one another, and love for the community.
We are Pentecost, not just church, . . . it’s an experience!
