Elder Regina Patterson

Elder Regina A. Patterson is a resident of High Point, North Carolina and a native of Dunn, North Carolina. As a child, Elder Patterson’s parents ensured she was in church at every opportunity. Her parents taught her the character of God and demonstrated how to love others by giving and being of service. From a young age, she helped her mother plant vegetables in the garden and also gathered the vegetables. Early on, Elder Patterson’s parents taught the meaning of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you” by freely sharing vegetables from the garden, meat after killing the hogs, clothes, time, consultation, and love.

Elder Patterson was baptized in September 1979 under the pastorate of the Late Leon J. Penny at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Dunn, North Carolina. She was often entrusted to attend the Missionary Baptist School Sunday School Convention as a delegate to represent Mt. Zion, returning home with many awards and recognitions. Elder Patterson was also chosen to read and explain various letters and other readings from the Sunday School Convention to the church.

In August 1987, Elder Patterson moved from Dunn to Asheboro, NC and joined Piney Ridge UMC. Under the leadership of Rev. Fred Barnes, Elder Patterson’s faith and determination grew exponentially. She sang in the Gospel Choir, taught Sunday School and served on other committees. Elder Patterson was very creative and worked with the youth. In the process, she often transported many children to church in her small 2-door vehicle. She also founded the church’s first dance team, The Revolution. Elder Patterson moved from Asheboro to Greensboro, NC in 2000. Elder Patterson continued working and serving at Piney Ridge until 2004. It was at this time that Elder Patterson started attending Kingdom Covenant Church under the leadership of Pastor Myron Dawson where her faith and obedience in God grew. In 2010, under the tutelage of Bishop Dawson, Elder Patterson was ordained Deacon. She taught Bible study and Sunday School and served as an usher. Although Elder Patterson did not initially want to answer the call of God on her life, she continued to work and “showed herself approved” and was ordained as Minister in 2015 and later appointed as an Adjutant.

Responding to giftings and callings in her life, Elder Patterson was often called upon to read official documents during consecrations. It was during this time that her dreams and visions became more vivid. Remaining faithful to God, Elder Regina was ordained Elder in 2019. In 2020, the church was shut down due to Covid, and Elder Patterson felt that something was missing. She started attending Pentecost Restoration and Deliverance Center in-person in 2021. She joined later that year and currently serves as Assistant Adjutant, Apostolic and co-chair of Power in Pearls Women’s Ministry.

Elder Regina holds an Associate Degree in Medical Office Administration from ECPI College of Technology. She also holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Masters of Social Work degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Elder Patterson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and provides Christian counseling as requested. She is the mother to one daughter, Cameron Sharyce Patterson, and grandmother to a granddaughter, Norielle, and grandson Isaac. She is the godmother and surrogate mother to many. It is Elder Patterson’s desire for God to use her to further His word and demonstrate His love. She believes that it is the will of God to help others understand that they, too, can change from the inside out and live a full life in Christ. Elder Patterson believes that God’s word will not return void. It will accomplish the very thing that it was sent out to do.

Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV)

“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
